The Twitterverse claims another celebrity victim!

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has created a Twitter account, despite telling a blogger earlier this year, "I don't quite understand the idea of twittering for the masses. It
seems a little bit invasive, but maybe I'm just a private person."

Back then, in May, Harris said he thought it was a little "weird" and "dangerous" to tweet that he was at a certain restaurant or attending a particular event.

"As a celebrity quote unquote that seems dangerous. It might be fun to let my friends know that some movie was cool, but then again you could just call them on the phone," he said.

Seems he's changed his tune!

And, his inaugural tweet was full of his trademark cheekiness:

"My first tweet, peeps. I apologize in advance for my slow learning curve. Nice to (sort of) meet you. It's amazing how quickly 140 charac"

The talented Mr Harris linked to a photo of himself with actress Felicia Day, which surely played a role in boosting his followers: the former Buffy actress has over 1.5 million committed Twitter fans.

Sure enough, it took him just a few hours to collect close to 40,000 followers of her own!

Harris posted another quick post a little while later:

"Holy Pete, so many responses! Thanks, gang! I'm still trying to figure out which button does what..! And this 140 character limit is craz"
